Location and Scope
Homeowners in Lakewood, Colorado hired us to expand their back patio, driveway and front walkway. We decorated this new concrete (as well as the existing patio concrete) with a decorative overlay and stamped it with Old Granite. We tinted the overlay with Copper Kettle, then hand-applied the Redwood Tile and Charcoal stains for accent. We applied a non-slip sealer to protect the concrete and enhance the colors.
Patio Expansion
The existing patio was too small for the homeowners to entertain, so they wanted to expand the patio out by approximately 150 SF.
We added approximately 150 SF of new concrete to the patio to enlarge it to 500 SF.
This is another shot of the patio expansion, but before the decorative overlay was applied.
This close up shows how the new and old concrete look next to each other.
The patio was cracking near the exterior house wall and we needed to patch and repair it.
We patched the cracking before applying the overlay.
Grinding the repair job helps create a smooth, level surface to apply the overlay to.
Our crew is applying the tinted overlay to the patio.
This photo shows half of the concrete sealed and the other half unsealed. The sealer not only protects the concrete, but also enhances the color of the concrete stain.
The original patio concrete was in decent shape, but there were some minor repairs to be made where the patio meets the house. The homeowner wanted a larger patio, so we added approximately 150 SF of new concrete to expand the patio out to about 500 total SF. Then we applied the tinted overlay, stamped it, stained it and sealed it.
Driveway Expansion
This photo shows the driveway after widening it and repairing the apron concrete, but before stamped concrete overlay on the border and apron.
The homeowner wanted to make the driveway wider, as well as repair broken concrete near the street sidewalk. We poured the extra on the sides and bottom. It was the homeowners preference not to decorate the whole driveway, but rather just the sides and new bottom portion. This created a great, custom driveway look without the expense of decorating the whole area.
Walkway and Entryway
We repaired some cracks in the front entryway/walkway concrete, and we poured new concrete for the side walkway. We then used an overlay on the front entryway area to achieve the decorative finish to match the back patio and driveway edging.
