This living space in central Denver had a wood base. So, to get the look that the homeowner was interested in, we had to build a ‘concrete’ substrate. Metal lath was stapled down and Repair Mortar filled the voids. Once cured, the first coat of MPC was troweled. The second coat was trowel and the pattern cut. Coffee colored Dye and Seal was spray on, the accent colors were applied and the first coat of seal put down. Once the sealer had set up, the grout lines were filled, cleaned up and the second coat of sealer applied. Kelly is very pleased with her one-of-a-kind floor—quite a transformation from plywood.

This beautiful home in the Winter Park, CO area was the site for a Miracote Miraflex II system on the upper deck and a matching overlay on the lower patio. Once the waterproofing system was applied to the upper plywood deck and crack repair and mesh was applied to the lower patio, the decorative overlay work began. Following the application of the first coat, the Ashlar pattern was taped; the top coat was troweled to achieve the desired look. Solvent-based sealer completed the project. This project was featured in an article on ConcreteNetwork.com. Read the article here!
